Seriously.. what's up with my IE and xanga? I wrote a lengthy post and it got deleted... AGAIN!!

1 week til I'm home!!!

Last night, CK and I resorted to BBM-ing each other from our rooms.

'Its like we're firewalled.. parentwalled!' he said of his parents sleeping in the room separating ours.. haha!

It's less than 24 hours to the final end of my semester!! I can't wait!! I'm even going to pick out my outfit before I go to sleep tonight!

'This girl has exams and all she cares about is what she's wearing?!?!'

Let me tell you..nothing makes a good day better than a good outfit+hair day, okay! Grr!

Original plan was to party it up and celebrate tomorrow night, but considering the fact that I've been asked to continue staying here while his parents are here, I don't think it would make a good impression if I stumbled back at 3am, speech slurred, vision blurred.

Besides, Tina has her Britney concert to go to tomorrow so..

..I'm lunching with the girls instead! Bubblies a must!! Yiiippeeee!!

Might be going to Dandenong on Saturday..yay!! More scones! And maybe Pie in the Sky this time around!

Bonding with the parentals isn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

Not so good for CK though.

His mum made a thorough scan of the fridge and the pantry and noticed the fruits, wholegrains, low-fat and other 'healthy' stuff.

If CK was smart, he would've told her that he's changed his eating habits for the better.. but noooo, he nicely told her they were mine.

Then she launched into the whole 'Ah Shuen, you should make him eat all these things then only he can slim down' coz, you know, she's appalled by the difference in size he is now compared to the stick he was back in school.

Yea, I couldn't believe my eyes either when I saw piccies of young CK.

Well, I told her that *I* have put on weight, influenced by his eating habits.

I used to have light dinners back in KL because I go quite heavy on my breakfast and lunch. But over here, dinner's his main and most important meal, so I make him full-on dinners..but end up eating quite a fair bit myself.

He also has nibbly cravings when the clock strikes 12. Having eradicated my supper habit when I was younger (parents were strict coz I was a rolly-polly girl), it is now haunting my waist. And arms. And thighs. And face. Omg, my face is round!

So yea, it was pretty much CK-bashing this morning. Which is why he's punishing me by taking them out all day, leaving me at home. Alone.

Poor me! *cry*

Actually, nah.. I need to study.  And I don't mind staying home alone anway! Just thought I'd give him more crap..

Darn. NOW, I'm hungry!

The King&Queen has arrived.

They're sleeping in the middle room, separating CK's and mine.

Earlier, I whispered to CK.. 'Heyy... wat if they.. you know.. in the room? Omg! The thought of it! Eeeww!!'... *shoos thoughts away* ...Ewww ewww ewwww!

Well, since they're already sleeping, CK's chilling in my room, hanging his dry squid up in Cooking Mama 3 on his Nintendo DSI. Yea, that's in addition to the below-mentioned gay wrist flick. Piece two and two together.. hmmmm.. ?? *raises eyebrows*

But anyway, the door just opened and the funniest thing happened.

CK jumps up in bed, lies stiff for a bit to listen out for what's happening, then goes 'SOoooooo righttttt........' loudly..

..and never finishes his sentence.

Because the door closed.

I looked at him and laughed my arse off!

I can't wait to see how this week's going to turn out! hahaha!!

OMG. I just wrote a whole entry and it got deleted. Just like that! *poof!*

Recent Buys

I've always had dry, brittle hair and I've always hated it.

As any lady would know, the hair's the one thing that has to be perfect. Elegant ladies always have this one thing about them - flawless hair.

One of the most elegant ladies I've known by far is a mum of a good friend who's probably done her hair in the same classic do for more than a decade now, but she always looks so immaculate in it.

So, you see, I never ever liked my hair so frizzy, dry and brittle.. but it's not like I've never tried doing aything about it.

I've used various conditioners and hair products from Pantene to Kerastase to John Freida, but nothing really worked. All they did was weigh my hair down so it sticks flat to my head, making me look like a wet duck OR they just make my scalp itch.

So when I was doing groceries the other day, I saw this light repairing spray by L'oreal and thought, what the heck! Might as well!

I'm only into my 2nd day, but the result is instantaneous. My hair is soooo smooth, with hardly any strand sticking out and, best of all, it doesn't weigh my hair down! It does what it promises to, while keeping hair light and fluffy!

Tried looking for a bigger pic, but that's the biggest I could find on Google/

Apart from my hair, I've been diligently taking care of my face as well. Not that I haven't before.. but I've been using the concentrated vitamin C powder I got from Chee Yoong's mom's clinic more often, and it is absolutely amazing!

It leaves skin smooth overnight, preventing fine lines and wrinkles, and brightens the face, reducing any appearance of dark spots. I got it for about RM300 but it's supposed to last for a year. I'm too lazy to take a picture of it so I'm just going to link it.

Pure 'C' can be found at Esadsa under the Esadsa Skincare range.

Speaking of online purchases, I picked up a couple of stuff from Asos the other day.

stockings stockings2
Heart-shaped Sheer Tights.

lace asos2 lace asos
Basic puff-sleeved lace top.

Me : Hey.. do you think I should get this top? It's really basic but I could probably get a lot of wear out of it.
CK : It's nice. I like the..
Me : Sleeves???
CK : Errrm, yea, sure! But I was actually gonna say that I like the model.. she's hot!

Yea, trust guys to make shopping decisions on the hotness of the model.

I realise that Ck and I have lots of really random conversations. And we make them sound completely serious.

Like, the other day when I was telling him how he sometimes does the gay wrist-flick/drop with when he says 'nevermind-lah..'..

CK : Hey! That's not how you do it okayyy..You have to soften your hand..relax..and let it fall..like that..*flicks wrist, drops hand*..let gravity help it along..

I tried several times, but my hand was apparently too 'strong' and 'manly'. But he, being the patient dear he is, continued to coach me. After a while..

CK : Omg, this is damn sad. Boyfriend teaching girlfriend how to be a girl.

Yea... so .

Anyway, his parents are arriving (this word always reminds me of Russell Peters and the British way of saying 'I'm cumming!'. hahaha!) anytime in the next couple of hours. So nervous!

Unknown Number

Just got a call from an Unknown Number and I figured it might be the usual Mum/Dad/Krys. But it was my brother!! So happy to hear from him!

He called coz he just found out where he's placed for uni next year!

He's going to Manchester!

I'm so SUUUUPER excited for him!! He would've preferred Edinburgh coz it's apparently a better Med school, but he says Manchester's fine too. He knows why I'd be excited though, which was why he called me right away.

Now that he's going to Manchester, I don't have to worry about not being able to spend time with him over summer coz he's only leaving next September. It's a long dreadful wait for him, but I guess he wouldn't mind it especially when Happy's going to be accompanying him those months.

Oooh.. so happy for him!!!

3 down, 1 to go!

YIPPEEEEE!!!

I realise that whether or not I'm prepared for my exam, I'll still get the morning pre-exam blues, just like yesterday's paper.

I was hyperventilating before the paper, but during the exam, I had so much to write, I didn't even have time to breathe. At the end of 2 hours, I was semi-handicapped - I couldn't straighten my arm. But I'd rather have a non-functional arm after exam than a loose, free one. At least the former is a fair indicator that I might pass!

I was super exhausted, but when I got home I still had a whole house to help clean and clear for the arrival of the king and queen of the house (Ck's parents arrive tomorrow). We called in a cleaner today to spring clean the whole house, but there were still a lot of other things to rearrange.

E.g. I've been using the 2nd room as my walk-in closet, but now that CK's parents are going to sleep in there, I had to shift everything and pack up my winter coats. Apart from that, there were heaps in the store cupboard to clean out, dishes to wash as well as the organising of my makeup and jewellery, books, magazines and bags.

I absolutely collapsed at the end of the night.

But not before I took my pictures of the day!

I asked CK to help take my pics for me once we got home, but we got caught up with laundry and cleaning the house and making dinner, so I only got these taken close to midnight, oily and smelling of spicy wine chicken and oriental egg omelette.

Thank goodness pictures don't transmit scents.

Actually, I've always wondered how it might be like if they did.

A lot of the best photos might not be as beautiful anymore. Picturesque photoshoots in ranforests would probably smell of animal poo and fresh rain, shoots by the sea would smell fishy and salty, worse if the sea was in Port Dickson, you'd probably smell gasoline as well. It'll be funny if some of the world's top models actually had really bad B.O. and don't use deodarant! Haha! Smelly pits!

Please excuse the hair. It was a long day and I'd just finished cleaning the house and I swear I'd tucked that loose strand in! But it magically came undone. Sigh.

The simplest way to change the look of an outfit is to tuck in your top. I personally prefer the tucked-in version with most of my outfits - I love the neatness and crispness of it - but since this shorts were low-waisted and loose-ish, I wore my top out for the day. Besides, its comfier to write essays in exams in a loose top.

The gorgeous brooch and earrings were from Camberwell Market.

I love brooches! My favourite buy is the one with pearls on silver leaves. I got them from this old lady who's got such a beautiful collection of brooches and earrings, I wanted ALL of them! I don't see many people wearing brooches anymore, which is a shame, because it easily spritzes up any plain top.

This time around, I took pictures at the foyer, if you may call it that. That's where the entrance is, and where we store our shoes. Then it hit me that my pairing up with CK is a match made in heaven for shoe-lover and shoe-lover.

PB091476

The tower-rack on the right is my area and the silver drawers are CK's.  I'd already sifted through my shoes and left a lot back home in KL. It was tough parting with them.

And yes, the silver drawers are filled with his shoes. I've never met any other guy who shares my passion for shoes.

PB091478 PB091477

I love coming in through the door facing a myriad of colours! Its so refreshing! I'd like to think that my colorful heels and shoes contribute to the interior decoration of his apartment. Like, the rack's an artpiece in itself.

Ooh! Cleaners are here! It's such a strange feeling sitting around blogging and surfing the net while they're going around cleaning and scrubbing. I actually feel slightly guilty and bad. It's so weird that what's a norm in KL would seem so foreign and strange here.

Shopping Weekend

Met up with Miss Tina yesterday for an impromptu lunch before we both headed to different DFOs to shop after.

Speaking of DFO, I thought I'd pick up a couple of basic classic button shirts from Ralph Lauren. I couldn't decide between the sizes - 2 or 4 - either size, the sleeves were still too loose.

When I got out of the changing room, this lady rolled her eyes and exclaimed sarcastically, 'Ohhh, THAT's why she was in there for so long!' or something to that effect, looking at the 4 shirts I was clutching. It was really rude the way she said it, but I let it slide, thinking she might be a customer. I walked past her with every ounce of my dignity.

When I went to pay, it turned out that she was a sales staff over there, and once I left, she had no qualms about turning to the the gorgeous Italian guy who served me and bitch about me.

It bothered me that she was actually the sales staff there. Yea, I was in there for 5-10 minutes, but it wasn't like I wanted to be in there for that long! I had to unbutton the shirts, wear them,  button them all up AND unbutton them again, while trying not to chip my nails. Repeat about 4 times. I had every right to make sure I was happy with the fit and cutting of the shirts that I had every intention of buying in the first place!

Still doesn't give any sales staff the right to be sarcastic and loud with their disapproval of customers. Besides, I'm sure she musn't have been THAT busy.

The two times I went into the changing room, empty hangers weren't cleared..pins, paper, and rubbish were strewn all over the floor, and there wasn't anyone minding the changing room area. I was going to do them a favour and politely inform them of the condition of the changing rooms, but pffft to that.

I had a good mind to call the management up to complain. But I decided that it was the start of my shopping day and nothing should bother me.

Phhhhewwww.. that was a long rant!!

Fast forward to today. Got up early at 8am just to head out to Camberwell Market. It was much bigger than I expected with lots of intricate little jewellery and wares of all sorts.

It was hot today, reaching about 32 degrees. The blistering heat kinda made me wish I could crawl into this, and hide under its shade.

PB081462

You can't really see it in this picture, but its an old-school pram with metal wheels and handle carved and moulded in ways that remind me of the good old 16th century. It's lined with lace and I'd add my mix of satin to it as well but it's just as gorgeous the way it is.

Since it was a sunny day, we decided to go for a drive to St. Kilda. Its always an amazing relaxed laidback yet cosy atmosphere there.

PB081463

I'd take a picture of what I got at Camberwell today, but *surprise, surprise* I need to study.

Dream

CK mentioned that I've laughed in my sleep before, and I kinda wondered if I'd actually cry in my sleep.

The closest experience I came to that was when I dreamt of my late grandpa dropping by for a visit and then he had to leave again. I remember sobbing in my dream but I don't know if I'd actually cried it out.

Well, my afternoon nap kinda satiated my curiosity.

I had the WORST dream ever! And I started crying until my tears woke me up. My sleeve was drenched and I was still crying 5 minutes after I got up.

It was quite a scare, my dream.

Apart from that, I had a pretty awesome weekend! Pretty awesome shopping weekend that is.

I was going through my old entries and it reminded me that my favourite necklace is missing.

It's a blue sapphire surrounded with diamonds in a heart shape.

I bought it a couple of years back as a sort of promise to myself that the power to own anything, the power to make myself happy lies in my hands and God's.

Basically, it was a symbol, a reminder that I should work hard at what I want and that I should never depend on anyone to shape my life. It was a symbol and reminder of independence.

Now it's missing.

Pins

I've been look for sheer stockings and tights for a while now.

When I was a kid, I remember watching my aunts and mum maneuver their sheer stockings up their legs, thinking the whole time of how ladylike and sophisticated that simple act was. Even in movies, the mysterious lady or the seductress always wears sheer black stockings.

I've never worn stockings or tights until I had to battle through my first Australian winter. Ever since, opaque tights have been my best friends in winter, having found my true love after a lifetime of conflict and uncertainty with jeans.

After being back in Malaysia for a year, I've realised that my thick stockings and tights were no good back home. Hence, I've been shopping around for sheers.

I've never been a fan of patterned tights, until I spotted a few feminine and chic ways of wearing subtle polka dot tights around in Melbourne. Gotta love Melbourne for fashion inspirations!

Another classic I'm looking for is stockings with seams. I've always been intrigued by that line that stretches all the way up. Cheeky! And such a tease!

Went to Myers to their hosiery section in attempt to look for some JonAstons or Luxelles. But the ones that I wanted were sold out in black and I don't think I could pull of coloured tights. That's when I kinda wished that I was in Topshop UK with a whole floor of hosiery selections.

Can't wait to get hold of them!
